Rarity is a gameplay mechanic inside both Save the Globe and Battle Royale (and by extension, Creative) to classify diverse items, weapons and cosmetics. For items, rarity usually coincides with how like shooting fish in a barrel it is to locate said item, or how powerful it is. For cosmetic items, it determines its price in V-Bucks.

There are currently 6 standard rarities ( Common , Uncommon , Rare , Ballsy , Legendary , and Mythic ) which crossover both modes, with Battle Royale having many more item and series rarities ( Exotic , Marvel Series , DC Series , Dark Series , Icon Series , Star Wars Serial , Lava Serial , Gaming Legends Series , Slurp Series , Shadow Serial , and Frozen Series ).

Save the Globe Rarities

Save the World has six rarities of items. Despite this, cross progression from Battle Royale to this mode allows cosmetic items to be used in both modes, with no statistical advantages.

Rarities are presented from weakest to strongest. These coincide with their availability.

The Storm King set of schematics are the but weapons of Mythic rarity.
Quest Specific pickups are often Legendary rarity.
Some items Common rarity were previously known as Handmade. Handmade was later removed.

Boxing Royale Rarities

Boxing Royale has seven rarities of items. Rarities are presented from weakest to strongest. These coincide with their availability.

Some Common Foraged Items were previously known every bit Handmade. This rarity was afterward removed.

For instance, Skye's Set on Rifle increases the damage and burn rate of a traditional Assault Burglarize, whereas the Night Militarist changes the telescopic used by the Scoped Revolver to use Thermal Vision.
Epic is the rarity in which many weapons change their icon. Examples are the Set on Rifle or Pistol. However, some weapons do not follow this rule such as the Tactical Submachine Gun or Lever Action Shotgun. This usually occurs when a weapon has four or 5 rarities.

Cosmetic Rarity

Cosmetic Rarity is a rarity used for Cosmetic Items. Unlike Item rarity, cosmetic rarity offers no statistical advantage, and usually just dictates the cost or quality of an item.

Cosmetic Rarity applies to both Battle Royale and Save the World.

Until the addition of the Rainbow Bubblegum Wrap, Common Cosmetics could not be purchased from the Item Shop.
The only Mythic cosmetic is the Battle Pass. This can be seen when the player is gifted one.
Transcendent is a rarity assigned to developer avails. There is no legitimate way to obtain something from this rarity.
- In Update v15.00 and onwards, Transcendent is now considered Exotic , every bit Exotic weapons are internally considered Transcendent .
Dark Series , Frozen Series , Lava Series , Shadow Series and Slurp Serial are all primarily (just non entirely) fabricated upwards of existing cosmetics, but altered to fit a new theme.
Lava Series is the simply non collaboration based series to take its own Loading Screens.
The Borderlands crossover corrective items were retroactively fabricated into Gaming Legends Series rarity, after the introduction of the rarity in Chapter 2: Flavor v.
The Icon Series is made up of outfits of various unlike "icons" such as Fortnite streamers, Fortnite YouTubers, music artists, etc. The first Icon Series items to be released were Marshmello and the Marshmello Bundle. Even so, these were retroactive, as the rarity did not exist until Chapter 2: Season 1.
The oldest retroactive rarity change of a corrective item is the Party Brute Harvesting Tool, which was changed from Epic to Slurp Serial despite the item releasing in Season 1.
Rarity is actually catechism in Fortnite: Boxing Royale, as evidenced by Agent Jones directly referring to weapon rarity in dialogue for the Resistance Quests in Chapter 3: Season two.
